A painter with a unique, vibrant oeuvre that set a precedent in the history of art. His style is so unique that it easily became a language of its own, recognized by his entire generation. One of his most common theme was the marginalization of people in the power of colonialism, which he painted using everything from Caribbean and African motifs, to allusions to graffiti, doodling and urban art. He left more than 150 works in his 27 years of life.
