Book: The Bell Jar
Author: Sylvia Plath

The Bell Jar is a novel written by Sylvia Plath and published in 1963. In the only novel written by the American poet, the protagonist is confronted with social conventions when she falls into a mental illness that resembles the author's own reality.

Sylvia Plath was an American poet and novelist. Her best known works are her collections of poems The Colossus, Ariel, and her novel The Bell Jar. Plath committed suicide a month after the novel was published. In 1982 she won the posthumous Pulitzer Prize for her Complete Poems.

“If you expect nothing from somebody, you are never disappointed.”
